Since most economics courses are taught in one semester, the unit is divided into six easily digestible segments: Basics in Economics, Business and Labor, Financial Institutions, Government and the Economy, Personal Finance, and Global and Ethical Perspectives. Reading selections for each part help students grasp micro- and macro-economics quickly. Reading questions called “Pressing Questions” challenge students to incorporate what they read into their own world while providing a useful link to the next topic. Handouts provide a launching pad for thinking and lively classroom conversations.
