Recommended for Grade 12
The primary goal of this unit is to assist high school seniors to pull all the pieces of their religious education into an integrated whole. Students are asked to examine what they believe about God and the Church, why they believe, and how they can best live according to their faith.
The text provides a doctrinal review of Catholic belief to insure religious literacy. The book serves as a blueprint for fostering lifelong commitment to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, including practical spiritual direction methodology to foster growth in faith. Emphasis is placed on the use of the Bible as a source for information about our faith and for inspiration for a deeper love of God.
Lesson titles include the following: Faith Is Risky, What Do We Believe about God, Personal Conversion, Growing in Relationship with Jesus, Models of Spirituality, and Stumbling Blocks.
This minicourse edition offers students opportunities to read the Scriptures, answer thought-provoking questions and share responses and reflections, interact in both small and large groups, and participate in brainstorming sessions. In addition, students are encouraged to participate in a trust-walk exercise and a class prayer modeled on the Church’s Liturgy of the Hours.
