Recommended for Grade 12
This Student Exercise Book complements the Teacher Manual with the same title in assisting high school seniors to pull all the pieces of their religious education into an integrated whole. Students examine what they believe about God and the Church and how they can best live according to their faith. Students experience a doctrinal review of Catholic belief to insure religious literacy. They are encouraged to foster a lifelong commitment to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Such commitment is addressed with psychological developmental theory and practical spiritual direction methodology. Emphasis is placed on the use of the Bible as a source of information about faith to inspire a deeper love of God.
The text consists of ten parts: What Is Faith; Faith Development; Ultimate Questions; God, the Answer; Kingdom of God vs. Kingdom of the World; Personal Conversion; Growing in Relationship with Jesus; Models of Spirituality; Stumbling Blocks; and Ongoing Formation. Exercise books can serve as records of an individual faith journeys. Activities stimulate class involvement, explore real-life experience, promote biblical and doctrinal literacy, foster creative thinking, teach community commitment, invite spiritual growth and prayer, and present service as essential to discipleship. This resource is to be used in conjunction with the Teacher Manual by the same title.
