Recommended for Grades 11-12

The purpose of this forty-lesson unit is to foster knowledge about and respect for the faith and religion of diverse people of the world who carry on the great traditions of the world religions. Students come to affirm and appreciate their own identity and uniqueness as Catholics by comparing themselves with others in a positive, respectful manner.

The text consists of eight parts: How to Study the World Religions, Hinduism, Buddhism, East Asian Religions, Islam, Judaism, Christianity, and An Ongoing Study. This resource includes many references to the Catechism of the Catholic Church and is to be used in conjunction with the Student Exercise Book by the same title.

Teachers guide student discussions, clarify important terms, present significant concepts, conduct brainstorming sessions, and encourage students to reflect on experiences.
