These ten detailed seminar plans are intended to foster awareness of God’s presence and activity in the lives of families. Sessions facilitate reflection on and discussion about topics such as the vocation of parenthood, communication, fostering self-esteem and discipline, conflict resolution, and living Gospel values in a changing world. Parents discuss the ages and stages of childhood and consider factors of change and ways to respond to God’s call in their daily lives.
Parent participants read scriptural passages, take part in discussions and prayer services, and work in small groups to share experiences. They examine situations that create stress in a family and study traits found in happy families. In addition, they consider various styles of family life and ways to build a better future.
