The call to pass on the Gospel message is the subject of this school-based program that can transform a school community and touch the hearts of students. Under the leadership of a campus minister, teens learn how to minister to their peers and implement ministry programs within their school community.
This resource is separated into two parts. The first part provides an introduction to peer ministry. It focuses on ten keys to success and the structure of peer ministry and provides useful information on planning liturgies and retreats. The second part addresses programs of peer ministry including peer ministry training day, opening school liturgy and peer ministry inductions, Thanksgiving food drive, Christmas on campus, Ash Wednesday service, Lenten mission collection, peer ministry application and selection process, and Ascension Thursday Mass.
Students who desire to be peer ministers attend a training day. Peer ministers learn to plan liturgies and retreats and help organize and participate in special events such as fundraisers, food drives, and assemblies.
