This 1942 novel reveals the absurd. The main character, Meursault, reacts to the news of his mother’s death; murders an Arab on a hot beach; and is imprisoned, tried, and sentenced to death. Feeling himself a stranger in his world, Meursault questions the meaning of existence.

Activities:
