Walk Two Moons
A part-Native American girl, Salamanca Tree Hiddle, sets out on a journey with her grandparents to find her mother; she struggles with her fears, the sorrow of loss, and the need for acceptance. Along the way, Sal tells the story of Phoebe Winterbottom, a girl whose experience with loss mirrors her own. Walk Two Moons is presented in a series of messages left at Phoebe’s house, the narrative includes themes that focus on wisdom, empathy, perspective, appreciating what one has, and the strength to face challenges.
