Le Morte D’Arthur is touted as the greatest collection of legends of King Arthur and his Noble Knights of the Round Table in English. The culmination of hundreds of years of development of the legends of Arthur and drawing from a wide range of French and English sources, Sir Thomas Malory’s work was finished sometime between March 1469 and March 1470. William Caxton first printed the manuscript in 1485 as twenty one chaptered books.
