All My Sons
The action of All My Sons takes place in less than a twenty-four hour period. The setting is the Midwestern backyard of Joe Keller in the 1940s. Complex characters illustrate Arthur Miller’s mixed feelings about war, love, greed, living life beyond one’s own family circle, and the role of father and son inside and outside the family. The drama explores greed among the middle class and reaches an understanding of the common good and each person’s responsibility to others.
