Description:
Where the Red Fern Grows is a bittersweet novel about a young boy growing up in the Ozarks. Through hard work and sacrifice, Billy saves enough money to fulfill his dream of owning a pair of hunting dogs. With Old Dan and Little Ann, he experiences outdoor adventures, heady triumph, and bitter disappointment. He also learns long-term values of loyalty, love, and the value of life. The novel evokes insights into the challenge of growing up, the value of hard work and sacrifice, and the importance of family support and love.
