Description:
This novel concerns three families who share a multiunit dwelling and their confusing emotions after the accidental death of Janie Rose, the youngest daughter of the Pike family. As the characters struggle to bring comfort to one another, they must also acknowledge their own feelings of helplessness and confusion as they see, through their own suffering eyes, those around them hurting. Tyler closes the novel with the celebration of life, reminding her readers that through love, a grieving heart can reemerge to joyful living, weak from ache, yet strong for enduring.
