Advanced Placement Comparative Government & Politics provides the tools necessary to develop an understanding of some of the world’s diverse political structures and practices. This course encompasses the study of general concepts used to interpret the political relationships and institutions found in virtually all national politics, as well as the study of several specific countries and their governments.
Six countries are included on the Advanced Placement Comparative Government and Politics examination. Great Britain, China, Russia, Mexico, Nigeria, and Iran are covered in college-level comparative politics courses. Developing countries are included to allow students to examine other sources of theory building as well as the political implications of different levels of economic development and the importance of developing countries in the modern world.
