Censorship
Censorship deals with the control of information. Students examine various types of censorship to understand their purpose and effectiveness. They explore censorship issues involving banned books, public schools, the library, and the Internet. They learn about the history of censorship, the degree of censorship in other nations, and censorship of the media in the United States. Lessons also discuss censorship in popular music, video games, television, and movies.
