Writing Volumes 1 and 2
The process approach emphasized in this program is highly recommended to develop skilled and motivated writers. Students use recursive steps of prewriting, drafting, conferencing, revising, editing, and publishing. Procedures highlight peer collaboration and the development of a personal writing voice. These units work especially well with writing portfolios. Graphic organizers, rubrics, and writing checklists are included to help students plan and evaluate their writing. Electronic publishing options and Internet resources are suggested in the lessons.
