What is included in a CFL Digital subscription?
Subscriptions can be purchased by individual teachers or by a school or district.
For Individual Teacher Subscriptions—Your CFL Digital subscription allows you to select individual lessons that meet your needs. You have access to
- an unlimited number of standards-aligned, customizable lessons;
- content searchable by keyword and grade level;
- links to complementary online resources;
- media-rich documents, including interactives and primary sources documents; and
- lesson-centered, online forums where participants ask questions, make suggestions, and share personal adaptations of using specific content in their classrooms.
For Group Subscription Packages—Based on the CFL Digital package purchased, a specific number of participants—10, 50, or 100— receive individual teacher subscriptions. They have access to
- an unlimited number of standards-aligned, customizable lessons;
- content searchable by keyword and grade level;
- links to complementary online resources;
- media-rich documents, including interactives and primary sources documents; and
- lesson-centered, online forums where participants ask questions, make suggestions, and share personal adaptations of using specific content in their classrooms.
What types of lessons are currently available in CFL Digital?
The initial launch of CFL Digital contains more than 500 lesson plans in English and Language Arts, Social Studies, and Literature. A complete list of titles and topics and a list of subject matter by grade level and topic are available on the CFL Digital Web pages.
What does a subscription cost?
A one-year subscription for individual teachers costs $99 and entitles you to an unlimited number of digital lessons. We accept purchase orders, credit cards, and checks. Schools and districts can purchase CFL PD, online professional development courses with accompanying subscriptions to CFL digital lessons. Can I purchase CFL digital lessons individually rather than purchasing a full subscription?
Not at this time.
How do I gain access to the CFL digital lessons?
Once you have placed your order with CFL, all the lessons you've purchased will be accessible through your ‘My Account’ page.
Can I use the digital lessons in my classroom?
CFL digital lessons are full lesson plans that can be adapted for your classroom setting. They provide background information, discussion topics with suggested responses, unique classroom activities, interactives, links to relevant sites, and more.
Can students use CFL Digital?
Just as with traditional lessons plans, CFL digital lessons are a tool for teachers to use in presenting content to their students in an engaging way. Students will not use CFL Digital directly; however, the lessons provide teachers with interactives and worksheets that students use.
Are the digital lessons aligned to national standards?
Yes, our lessons are written by Master Teachers and aligned to the National Standards for the English Language Arts, the National Standards for History, and the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy in History/Social Studies.
Do the lessons include student assessments?

Can I integrate my materials into the product?
CFL digital lessons are designed to be flexible and adaptable. You can use whatever elements work best in your classroom and integrate your own ideas and materials into your presentation of the lesson. Each CFL digital lesson has its own forum with ongoing discussion and collaboration on how best to use the lesson content in different settings. You can ask questions and share with other teachers the ways you are adapting and using materials with your classes.
Do CFL Digital lessons require special software or operate in a learning management system?
CFL digital lessons are stand-alone, Web-based lesson plans, designed to provide you with the flexibility to work anywhere. The platform-independent lessons do not require any specialized software or work in a learning management system.
How often can I use the lessons?
Lessons may be used as many times as needed during the term of your subscription.
When does my subscription begin?
Your subscription begins once we receive payment and it runs for 12 months from that date.
What happens when my subscription expires?
Once the subscription expires you will not have access to the paid resources. Subscriptions must be renewed before the end of the subscription term to ensure uninterrupted access to CFL Digital. You will receive timely e-mail reminders to renew your subscription.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Our licensing and copyright use policies do not allow cancellation of a subscription.
