A Tale of Busting Boredom in School
By Shannon Anderson. Illustrated by Colleen Madden. Casey doesn’t want to waste his time on super boring school stuff; he’d rather be drawing or playing his kazoo. He often daydreams in class and ignores homework and projects that don’t interest him. His teacher complains that he is "coasting," doing just well enough to get by. When Casey ends up getting sent to the principal, she helps him learn to apply his passion for art and music to his schoolwork. Told through catchy rhymes and humorous illustrations, the message will resonate with all kids who are bored in school but want to do better. Included are discussion questions and activities to help adults foster dialog and reflection with students. Grades K–4. Free Spirit. 43 pages. ©2016.
