FRIENDSHIP ISLAND
Board game
The ability to form positive peer relationships is a vital skill to be learned during the elementary school years. This game fosters social skills building and explores common friendship issues—resolving differences with peers, treating friends with respect, and making new friends, etc.—while allowing students to voice concerns and opinions in a fun and supportive environment. The post-game discussion is meant for players to forge connections between their experiences in the game and the real world. The box includes two games (one for grades 1 and 2, the other for grades 3 and 4) a game board, six decks of cards, two decks of certificates, playing pieces, two rules sheets, and a teacher’s booklet. Grades 1–4. Players: 2–6. Time: 40 to 80 minutes. Franklin Learning Systems. ©2006.
