GETTING TO KNOW YOU!

Field-tested curriculum designed to prevent behavior problems before they occur by teaching appropriate skills instead of dealing with inappropriate behavior after the fact. The program uses “Think Aloud” (internal dialogue) strategies in 77 classroom lessons reinforced through activities, realistic stories to illustrate the behavior, modeling, discussion, and role play. More than 60 reproducible posters introduce skills-based affirmations and questions such as “What Will Happen if I Try?,” “Choose and Do It,” and “Listen Respectfully.” Positive behaviors to be learned include classroom skills, replacements for aggression, self-expression, solving problems, relieving stress, friendship, and self-acceptance.
