RACHEL’S CHALLENGE GAME
Board game
Aiming to promote a culture of compassion, this empowering board game calls on players to work together to build a "chain of kindness" while sharing their experiences and opinions about the character categories of Kindness, Influence, Acceptance, and Goal Setting. Four decks of cards, one for each category, pose questions that are designed to inspire reflection (e.g., "What does it mean to be a good influence?"). Players then receive one link to add to the chain of kindness. An additional deck of cards prompts players to perform acts of kindness ("Try to help another player."). Includes instructions for versions for older and younger players. Players: 2–5. Time: 30–45 minutes. Grades 3–12. Franklin Learning Systems. ©2013.
