Designed to hook students with multiple learning styles into one endeavor with the same common goal, these cooperative-learning activities span major eras of world history and can be woven into regular lessons or presented as exciting, stand-alone games.
The activities are divided by era into "Speed Challenges" (e.g., name the Soviet leader who promoted glasnost and perestroika), "Time Challenges" (e.g., on a blank map, correctly locate and label three ancient Greek city-states), and "Creative Challenges" (e.g., create a certificate of achievement for Ibn Battuta for his travels). Post-challenge discussion questions and templates to create new challenges are provided. Aligned with Common Core, C3, and NCSS Standards.
