Each reproducible book presents 25 photo-illustrated "comics" with dialog bubbles in which one strip shows a social interaction in school going wrong, while the second strip shows it going better. In the lunch room, for example, Charles doesn’t know anybody, so he sits by himself—but he could have looked for an empty chair next to someone and asked, "Is it okay if I sit here?" Facing pages blow up photo details to focus on body language, and activity pages ask students to write paragraphs of critical analysis (like "How do you feel when your friends sit with someone else?").
