Students become documentary filmmakers—without needing prior knowledge of filmmaking. Supplying raw footage for students to cut into their own original short documentary films, this innovative curriculum guides students step-by-step as they research their topic, analyze the issues, make persuasive arguments, and create one-minute movies to communicate their conclusions. Each standards-based unit provides—in addition to two hours of raw footage per topic—a how-to-make-a-movie video, worksheets, flow charts, templates, activity ideas, and assessment rubrics. Requires 5–10 class periods. Grades 9–12. Color. ©2012.
