THE GIVER

In a seemingly perfect community, without war, pain, suffering, differences, or choice, a young boy is chosen to learn from an elderly man ("The Giver") about the true pain and pleasure of the "real" world. 97 minutes. This 2014 production, based on Lois Lowry’s book, tells the story of how 18-year-old Jonas is selected to be the Receiver of Memories, and how he reacts to the knowledge that his ideal community is a fake.
