THE MEXICAN-AMERICAN WAR 1846–1848

A collection of 14 photo aids depicting the war between the United States and Mexico of 1846–1848. The war resulted in the annexation by the United States of what was then over half of Mexico and today are the states of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, and California. The photo aids provide an on-the-spot view of the war, explain the reasons for the war, and describe its cost in terms of lives and dollars.
