Researcher and author Rachel Simmons examines the challenges facing young women as they make their way through adolescence. Simmons interviews parents, psychologists, teachers, and social workers who are nurturing girls into capable, resilient adults. She also talks with four girls who share their own deeply personal tales: Analuz, struggling with body image issues; Libby, cyberbullied by "friends"; Carla, an inner-city kid embroiled in fights; and Sonia, learning to have confidence in herself while attending an all-girls school.
