ANCIENT INDIA

The primary sources focus on early India and the Aryan invasion theory. Some are about ancient Indian civilization, and others are about the Indo-European languages and their spread. The secondary sources provide different overall judgments about what historians do and do not know about the topic. Concluding exercises have students assess questions such as "Do the language clues in this lesson’s sources show that Vedic Hinduism was first brought to India by outside Indo-European speakers? Why or why not?"
