BEYOND HIGH SCHOOL
Strategies for Non-Traditional Students
DVD, guide
For students whose skills, career choices, and needs do not fit well with typical academic programs, this DVD looks at three alternative paths that are available after high school-apprenticeships, certificate programs, and college programs for those with learning disabilities and AD/HD. Personal stories include a high school graduate getting a certificate in culinary arts, an apprentice participating in a bricklaying program, and two students with learning disabilities talking about a college program specifically designed for them. A summary of the program, learning objectives, student activities, and fact sheets are included in a three-ring binder (and on the DVD). Grades 9–12. Closed captioned. Color. 19 minutes. Human Relations Media. ©2008.
