CHILDREN AND GRIEF

Respecting the wisdom of children and counting on the power of peer-to-peer communication, three programs interview ten young people (ages four to 14) who lost family members to death. A reassuring strength and resiliency shine through these touching, life-changing tales told through sensitively conducted question-and-answer sessions that reveal the uniqueness of each loss as well as grief’s commonalities. The questions addressed in these sessions, and the openness of the varied responses, can help grieving viewers recognize that they are not alone and can open channels of communication. Three pdf workbooks (each about 15–20 pages) with activity ideas and printable handouts to help counselors use the programs effectively are supplied on CD-ROM.
