DEFINING SEXUAL ASSAULT
DVD (widescreen)
Reduce the potential for sexual assault. Three young survivors of sexual violence join counselors and other experts to define sexual assault and warn viewers that assaults are more likely to come from acquaintances than strangers. Experts explain methods of risk reduction, such as going out in numbers, staying together, and keeping tabs on friends. The program also breaks down the options for a survivor (including medical intervention, forensic exams, filing a police report, prosecuting the perpetrator, and seeking counseling), techniques for bystander intervention, and the best methods for supporting a friend who has experienced sexual assault. Student handouts, a 36-page teacher’s resource book, and a pre/posttest are provided in digital format. Grades 9 and up. Closed captioned. Color. 34 minutes. Human Relations Media.
