DIVORCE
A Survivor's Guide for Kids
DVD
As teens share personal experiences with family breakup, counselors help them accept that divorce is between adults and never the fault of children. Their stories, plus advice from experts and parents, point toward ways kids can minimize the pain of separation and preserve a semblance of family life. Dramatic situations (with commentary) show teens progressing through the emotional stages of divorce (denial, anger, sadness, bargaining, acceptance, forgiveness) and getting on with their lives. The program concludes with a visit to the Sabinos (parents with two teen daughters) to show how one family adjusted successfully after divorce. Grades 6–12. Closed captioned. Color. 15 minutes. Cambridge. ©2002.
