DOWN IS UP

A hard topic—depression—becomes a conversation for the entire class in this animated fable, which emphasizes the healing power of individual choice. Two birds with broken wings are trapped in a hopelessly deep pit. One bird tries to escape but falls deeper into the pit and disappears. The other flops about listlessly until a friendly dragonfly goads it into climbing the almost sheer walls. And why are so many mushrooms mysteriously falling in from above? Grades 10 and up.
