GEOMETRY CHALLENGE

With several possible solutions, each of these geometry challenges exercises your students’ problem-solving skills. Working alone, with partners, or in teams, students work on projects that focus on two-and three-dimensional diagrams and models and incorporate visualization, spatial reasoning, and geometric modeling. As students analyze and interpret one another’s work and keep a record of their own progress, they gain insight into different ways of looking at a problem. After working through activities, students create their own angle challenge complete with instruction, information, and answer key. The required for each challenge varies from one to two class periods. Grades 6–10. Interact.
