Using personable young actors and four realistic scenarios, this program illustrates how gossip causes chaos and hurt. Emily tells Kerry’s friends that Steve likes both Kerry and Emily, but payback hurts when a rumor hits the school that Emily has been more than friendly with a boy in a neighboring town. Each segment shows a different type of rumor—completely fictional, facts twisted to support an erroneous conclusion, a true but private fact, and a rumor that uses someone’s reputation as proof.
