Student teams study the fascinating ecosystem of rainforests while on an imaginary expedition on which they construct a large classroom replica of a rainforest (including various flora and fauna, and natives), and learn and voice concerns about the survival of these regions.
The teacher’s guide contains complete procedures, vocabulary, handout masters, extension activities, and assessments. A 22″ x 34″ wall map is also included. The full simulation runs for 11 class periods, though lessons may be omitted; most lessons can stand alone.
