SETTING GOALS FOR HEALTHY LIVING
Changing one’s lifestyle for the better isn’t easy, but achieving health goals becomes more likely when approached realistically and in manageable steps. Set a goal to improve eating habits—maybe to lose weight, gain weight, or bring cholesterol or blood sugar levels down. Start small, be specific, and make a plan. The program also stresses that the key to lifelong fitness lies in being active while young. Something as simple as taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or riding a bike to school rather than driving, may have a long-term impact on a person’s health. The DVD menu has selectable English and Spanish subtitles. Grades 9–12. Color. 30 minutes. Discovery School. ©2006.
