Designed to hook students with multiple learning styles into one endeavor with the same common goal, these cooperative-learning activities span all major eras of U.S. history and can be woven into regular lessons or presented as exciting, stand-alone games.
The activities are divided by era into "Speed Challenges" (e.g., name the colony formerly known as New Amsterdam), "Time Challenges" (e.g., write as many abbreviations for New Deal acts as possible in one minute), and "Creative Challenges" (e.g., write an acceptance speech for being honored as the most important person in WWII). Post-challenge discussion questions and templates to create new challenges are provided. Aligned with Common Core, C3, and NCSS Standards.
