As cooperative Space Exploration Teams travel to each Solar Stop, students research the locations (planets, asteroids, comets, and meteors), write about them in their Space Explorer's Log, read stories and complete a variety of interactive activities.
With the help of various references, they gather galactic facts and complete activities cooperatively and individually. Independent reading is also encouraged through two Space Race Book Reports. The unit culminates as teams take part in a Press Conference producing an original Space Race Playhouse Presentation. Several timing options are presented in the teacher’s guide.
