By Victoria McGee. Get preteen boys ready for action with this curriculum that harnesses their natural interest in cars, using car parts as metaphors to teach them self-awareness skills. The lessons (which feature activities, role plays, and discussions) focus on making good choices, thinking before acting, and staying healthy. The program can be delivered in either a six-week, small- group format or a larger, two-session group presentation using PowerPoint^® (30 slides). The parent PowerPoint^® (30 slides) educates adults about preteen boys’ development and gives an overview of the curriculum. Includes a leader’s guide (127 pages) and suggested presenter scripts for both PowerPoints^®. Six 11" x 17" posters illustrate main ideas from the curriculum. Grades 4–7.
