TAKING READING COMPREHENSION TESTS

In this program, students will learn specific strategies for answering the literal, inferential, and analytical questions that populate these types of tests. Students will be taken on a step-by-step journey through both fiction and nonfiction passages in order to find main ideas, determine the author’s purpose or point of view, distinguish fact from opinion, draw conclusions, sequence events, identify cause and effect, and locate details. Students will also learn how to analyze options on multiple-choice tests, and hear about the best ways in which to prepare for a reading comprehension test.
