THE SCIENCE IN FOODS
Connect science to everyday life by introducing students to the science of food. The program reveals the components found in food and explains why we need carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, minerals, fats, and oils. Viewers see how to test different foods to determine which of these components are present. The program also examines food allergies, genetically modified foods, and food safety: how food should be handled and stored, including packaging, refrigeration, and use-by dates. Grades 7–9.
