Four teens and their employers share how seven competency skills—communication, leadership, computer literacy, adaptability, juggling tasks, problem solving, and negotiation—play a major role in succeeding at their jobs. Along with assessing their own strengths and weaknesses, students recognize the importance of reacting, responding, and adapting to new and unexpected situations and opportunities; learn how their interests could guide future career choices; devise strategies to develop skills for the workplace; find ways of taking the first step toward leading others; and more.
