A rollicking musical play introduces, recap, or reinforce the creation of the state of Texas to students.
Even "musically timid" teachers can mount this show with 11 original songs, simple dance numbers, and breezy lines. Students learn the songs by listening to the CD, which presents the songs twice: first with music and lyrics, for learning the songs; second with music only, so kids can sing along. The spiralbound playbook (8½" x 11") contains an illustrated script with reproducible stage directions and lyrics, casting guidelines (11 to 40 students), and suggestions for making simple sets and costumes, teaching songs, conducting rehearsals, and staging the final 30-minute production.
