WHEN WORDS HARASS

Parallel storylines illustrate how rumors start from misinformation and spread wildly—sometimes as innocent misunderstandings, but usually with malicious intent. Between scenes, narrators communicate the central messages: a rumor used as a weapon of power or revenge constitutes harassment, and careless or hurtful gossip can just as easily circle back to damage the reputation of its source. A teacher’s guide (on disc) includes correlations to standards, discussion questions, activities, reproducible handouts, a reading list, and a complete program script. Grades 9–12. Color. 22 minutes.
