ANCIENT TO MEDIEVAL

Examples: the lesson on the development of writing has three student teams create their own writing system, with one designing pictographs, another drawing hieroglyphs, and the third devising an alphabet; while the activity on feudal Japan has students create social media profiles for and messages from samurais. Other lessons concern English skills such as etymology and dictionary use, avoiding run-on sentences, interrogative pronouns and adverbs, the conditional tense, declarative sentences, and report writing.
