BOOK MOUNTAIN EXPEDITIONS

Each spiralbound teacher’s guide addresses four genres (Volume 1: mysteries, biographies, animal stories, and realistic fiction; Volume 2: fantasy, general nonfiction, poetry, and sports fiction), including for each genre a Travel Agreement reading contract (setting out the parameters of the assignments), a multilevel recommended reading list, related vocabulary, four sets of reproducible Activity Cards (vocabulary, comprehension, writing, and Challenge), and handout masters. The units come with 35 student guides for scorekeeping and travel tips, as well as a 34″ x 22″ Book Mountain map for charting student progress. Due to the individualized, flexible nature of the projects, total class time ranges widely.
