Help students understand the diversity of life as they learn fascinating facts about snails and other creatures on the Taxonomy Trail.
Students complete a variety of activities and observations that reinforce and demonstrate mastery of the basic concepts and categories of taxonomic classification. In “Preserve Teams,” students sort according to physical characteristics, learn about classifying based on behavior, observe and experiment with live snails and play a culminating game called “Save the Ecosystem.” Includes separate activities for primary and intermediate students. The unit as presented will take 10 class periods.
