In this simulation students participate in a special dinosaur research project in which they will study dinosaurs as scientists and practice telling time.

Their goal is to survive the T-Rex as they role-play a plant-eating dinosaur, raising their young and finding food. They go to a fossil site and make maps, then learn how to label fossils and carefully remove them. The retrieved fossils are put together to form a skeleton, which students study to prepare a report. “The Dinosaur Story,” a shadow play, is performed as a culminating activity. Suggested timing is 12 classes, but this may be modified.
